Same Boring Blog – Hopefully Less Boring Content

I figured, since this place has been more dormant than I care, and now that I have the AdSense stuff setup thanks to a tip from Bill on the WP-Plugin, I thought I would use this space to give a little insight to the 'stuff' in the East Metro area. (still mixed in with fun things and trips of course) Not just one thing, but rather, a general (and hopefully useful) lump of info...

I voted. End of story.

[caption id="attachment_286" align="alignnone" width="450" caption="Originally Uploaded by Tim Dachtera."][/caption] I will freely admit that I'm not the most well versed when it comes to politics, I'll save that for my friend Aaron. I did however, take advantage of my civil liberty to vote yesterday. I woke up early, and decided to go for a jog, and figured I'd take a jog to the polling location I'm assigned to. Showing up a little early, I was...

Texting and Driving Law – are we really safer now?

While I am not currently driving and composing this post, I did think about the topic while driving, just needed to throw that out there to start with.  Recently, MN implemented a law against text messaging while operating a motor vehicle, listing it as a primary offense and carrying up to a $300 fine. Since that went into effect on Aug. 1, I have not noticed a decrease in the people I see texting or whatnot...

Elephant and Castle – Seattle, WA

Photo by Tim Dachtera If you are looking for a decent place to grab some awesome food and beverage with a good atmosphere in Seattle, give this place a try.  It's under the Red Lion hotel, and is accessible street side.  They feature a number of local Seattle beers on tap, as well as other tasty drinks.  Mer, Lori and I started in the bar with a nice waitress who took our orders, explained that ordering...

Sunny days are great convertible days.

Uploaded by Tim Dachtera Waking up this morning to sunshine instead of the rain from Saturday made my day to start.  Even better, the temperature wasn't too chilly, so I figured it would be a great day to save some gas and take the G-RAFFE to my photo shoot in Hastings.  I've always liked the bridge going across the Mississippi, and I love the little car, so I thought it would make a nice photo to...

Riding for a cure – 2008 MS-150 Bike Tour

Uploaded by Tim Dachtera Once again, I am starting to raise funds for the MS Society MS-150 Bike Tour.  I have been riding this tour for over a decade now, and look forward to it each year.  While I feel it is a good organization to raise money for, I also enjoy the opportunity to bike and camp for a weekend in the process. Each year, our team changes with a new rider, or we lose...

Long time, No post…

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I've been really busy between school, work, Silicon, TCS and trying to workout at least 5 days a week.  I've still been trying to take Silicon to the next level in providing me a dependable source of income.  Also over the last few months I've been getting back in touch with a number of old high school friends, or friends from my past I've lost contact with...

A much needed vacation

While Our main destination isn't really Universal Studios, We may swing by there if we have time, as I'd really like to check our land of the Parrotheads, or Bob Marley's place again for some food and drinks. We are headed down to Orlando for a family wedding on Meredith's side of the family and more or less overtaking 1/2 of a hotel or something like that.  Me, being the geek I am, am packing a...
